After being conquered by the English, the colonial farms fell into three major catagories. There were the substance farmers, which were those who grew only eough to support their famil, the cash crop perople, which were those who grew crops primarily for the market to sell, and there were also the plantation owners, which were those who had all the big acres and had people working on thier farms
